Ancient Wisdom For Modern Life

Yoga, Meditation & Counseling

What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda, which means “the science of life,” is a system of holistic medicine practiced by millions of individuals for over 5000 years.  It is the sister science of yoga, and offers a natural and balanced approach to optimal health. According to Ayurveda, each person has a unique constitution determined by the individual's unique qualities.

Ayurveda defines a healthy person as one who is established in the "Self."  Not simply the absence of disease, but a blissful state of balance where the mind, body, and spirit function optimally.

The self-healing principles of Ayurveda teach individuals to become familiar with their own constitutions, empowering them to make simple yet powerful choices in their diet and daily routines that enhance their mental, physical, and spiritual well-being.  This harmonious state can prevent disease and encourages a joyful, productive, and balanced life.

We all have an innate urge towards wholeness and harmony.  This is our natural state, although most of us have forgotten this over the course of our lives.  The path of Ayurveda, yoga, and meditation is the journey of remembering one’s true nature.  These ancient, healing practices meet you exactly as you are in this moment. Through the compassionate lens of yoga and Ayurveda, challenges become opportunities for growth and expansion. The holistic self-care practices of Ayurveda address your whole well being - physically and psychologically, as well the deepest layers of your creativity, awareness, and consciousness. Through this inner exploration, we awaken the vitality, clarity and peace that is already within.

I am honored to guide you on your journey towards a greater understanding of who you really are and empower you with tools to help bring you into your unique state of balance.  By creating the conditions in your body, mind, and consciousness for healing to occur, you will enjoy an overall greater sense of ease in your life.
